BLS for Healthcare Providers

Learn how to save lives of victims in cardiac arrest through high-quality CPR. This hands-on course teaches the latest CPR techniques using the American Heart Association’s® 2010 guidelines for adults, children and infants. This course prepares healthcare professionals to perform CPR in both in-hospital and out-of-hospital settings. Our experienced paramedic instructors teach participants how to recognize cardiac arrest, deliver effective ventilations and use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).

The American Heart Association requires all students to have a 2010 BLS Student Provider manual during and following class. If you do not have your own or have access to a copy of the 2010 BLS Student Provider manual, you may purchase one here. Please choose the "Pickup" option and your manual will be given to you prior to the start of class.

BLS Heartcode® for Healthcare Providers (Online)

This course is an official, self-directed, comprehensive eLearning program from the American Heart Association®. Students are presented with BLS cases and an online multiple-choice written exam. While interacting with the program, students assess each patient, formulate a treatment plan based on 2010 BLS guidelines, and provide treatment. Successful completion of Part 1, the online component, and Parts 2 and 3, skills practice and testing with an AHA® Instructor, are the requirements for obtaining a BLS for Healthcare Providers course completion card.

BLS Heartcode® for Healthcare Providers (Skills Check Only)

This Skills Session is for students who have completed the online portion of the Heartcode® BLS for Healthcare Providers course. It involves a brief practice session followed by a check of the student's skill at performing 1- and 2-rescuer CPR for an adult and infant. Most Skills Sessions last about 30 minutes.

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)

 

Earn this valuable American Heart Association ® certification while exploring the most recent advances in resuscitation science. Our AHA-trained instructors teach students how to improve the quality of care for adult victims of cardiac arrest and other cardiopulmonary emergencies. Students enhance their skills in the treatment of arrest and peri-arrest patients through active participation in a series of simulated cardiac and respiratory cases. The American Heart Association requires all students to have a copy of the 2010 ACLS Student Provider manual before, during and following class. If you do not have a copy or are unable to secure one prior to class, the manual can be purchased as part of your registration.

 

ACLS/BLS Combination Class

This class gives students an opportunity to earn or renew their ACLS and BLS certificates on the same day for one low rate. You will earn these valuable American Heart Association ® certifications while exploring the most recent advances in resuscitation science. Our AHA-trained instructors teach students how to improve the quality of care for adult victims of cardiac arrest and other cardiopulmonary emergencies. Students enhance their skills in the treatment of arrest and peri-arrest patients through active participation in a series of simulated cardiac and respiratory cases.

HeartCode® ACLS is an official, self-directed, comprehensive eLearning program from the American Heart Association (AHA). HeartCode® ACLS Part 1 uses eSimulation technology to present realistic patient scenarios. Students are presented with a team dynamics lesson, 10 ACLS hospital-based case scenarios, and a written exam. While interacting with the program, students assess each patient, formulate a treatment plan based on ACLS guidelines, and provide treatment. Successful completion of Part 1, the cognitive component, and Parts 2 and 3, skills practice and testing with an AHA ACLS Instructor or a voice-assisted manikin (VAM) system, meets the requirements for obtaining an AHA ACLS Provider course completion card.

 

ACLS Heartcode® (Skills Session Only)

This Skills Session is the last step in obtaining your official American Heart Association® ACLS course completion card. We'll begin with a brief review of the essentials of ACLS, with an emphasis on the Team Dynamics of ACLS care. Then one of our AHA-certified instructors will lead you through a final megacode scenario. Once you have successfully completed the final megacode, you'll receive your official ACLS course completion card.

Heartsaver® CPR AED

The Heartsaver® CPR/AED course is designed for anyone who may respond to a life-threatening emergency in the workplace, home or anywhere people gather. This class teaches the latest American Heart Association® techniques in CPR, including foreign-body airway obstruction (choking). Students also learn how to recognize the signs of cardiac arrest and operate an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). Our highly-trained paramedics teach this fast-paced, interactive class at our AHA training facility.

The American Heart Association requires all students to have a 2010 Hearsaver® CPR AED Student Provider manual during and following class. If you do not have your own copy of the 2010 Heartsaver® CPR AED Student Provider manual, you may purchase one here. Please choose the "Pickup" option and your manual will be given to you prior to the start of class.

Heartsaver® CPR AED Online is a self-directed course that uses interactive lessons and videos to teach you CPR, AED and choking knowledge. This program is for anyone with limited or no medical training who needs an AHA course completion card. You will learn:

  • Adult CPR and AED use
  • Adult choking
  • Child CPR and AED use
  • Infant CPR
  • Child choking
  • Infant choking 

Completion of the full course includes Part 1 online, plus a skills practice and testing session (Parts 2 and 3) with an AHA Instructor. Upon successful completion of all three parts, students receive an AHA course completion card.

Heartsaver® First Aid CPR AED Online is a self-directed course that uses interactive lessons and videos to teach you comprehensive First Aid, CPR, and AED knowledge. This program is for anyone with limited or no medical training who needs an AHA course completion card. You will learn:

  • First aid basics
  • Medical emergencies
  • Injury emergencies
  • Environmental emergencies
  • Adult CPR and AED use
  • Adult choking
  • Child CPR and AED use
  • Infant CPR
  • Child choking
  • Infant choking

CPR instruction includes high-quality compressions, airway management, breathing, and how to use a mask. First Aid instruction includes bandaging, bleeding, wounds, choking, shock, seizure, fainting, broken bones, sprains, burns, bites, stings, poison, and temperature-related conditions, to name a few. Once you begin the course, you’ll have access to the online lessons, videos, manuals and resources for 2 years. You can start and stop the course at your convenience until you have finished it at your own pace.

Heartsaver First Aid with CPR AED (Skills Session Only)

This Skills Session is for students who have already completed the online version of the Heartsaver First Aid with CPR AED course. Students who have not yet taken the online class should sign up for the Heartsaver First Aids with CPR AED online course. To find this class on our web site, click on the E-Learning tab and locate the online Heartsaver First Aid with CPR AED course.

Heartsaver® First Aid

 The Heartsaver® First Aid course is designed for anyone who may respond to a life-threatening emergency in the workplace, home or anywhere people gather. This class teaches the latest American Heart Association® First Aid techniques vital for workplace safety. Our highly-trained paramedics teach this fast-paced, interactive class at our AHA training facility. Your course completion card is good for 2 years.

Heartsaver® First Aid (Online)

Heartsaver® First Aid Online is a video-based, instructor-led course teaches students critical skills to respond to and manage an emergency in the first few minutes until emergency medical services (EMS) arrives. Students learn skills such as how to treat bleeding, sprains, broken bones, shock and other first aid emergencies.

Completion of the full course includes Part 1 online, plus a skills practice and testing session (Parts 2 and 3) with anAHA Instructor. Upon successful completion of all three parts, students receive an AHA course completion card.

 

Heartsaver® Bloodborne Pathogens

The Heartsaver® Bloodborne Pathogens course teaches employees how to protect themselves and others from being exposed to blood or blood-containing materials, and is designed for anyone with a reasonable chance of coming into contact with bloodborne pathogens. It meets Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements for bloodborne pathogens training when paired with site-specific instruction. Professionals who may benefit from this training include: Correctional Officers, Childcare workers, Security guards, Maintenance workers, School personnel, Hotel housekeepers, Health and fitness club staff and Tattoo artists.

PALS Heartcode® (Online)

HeartCode® PALS is a web-based, self-directed program that teaches healthcare providers the knowledge and skills needed to recognize and prevent cardiopulmonary arrest in infants and children. Using eSimulation technology, students assess and treat patients in virtual healthcare settings where they can apply their knowledge to real-time decision-making and skills development. After completing the online portion (Part 1), students come to our AHA® teaching facility for their Skills Session and testing (Parts 2 and 3). Once the Skills Session is complete, students will receive their official AHA® PALS® course completion card.
